The pioneer
Saab Rosemount pioneered in introducing radar techniques for level gauging. The first Saab TankRadar® for tankers was delivered in 1975. The company soon became the world leader in radar tank gauging and it took ten years before any competitor was able to bring the same technique to the market.

Saab Rosemount took advantage of this position to further develop the level gauging technique for inventory and process applications.
Today, Saab Rosemount is the world's most successful company in radar based tank level gauging. The position as world leader has been achieved by focusing on quality and competence within research, development and manufacturing. This is proven by an impressive number of certificates and approvals for custody transfer accuracy and electrical safety. Saab Rosemount is also an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified company, and has been granted a number of different patents.

Today, 56 per cent of all new tankers are equipped with Saab TankRadar® and the customers within the inventory and process industry include all major oil companies.

Milestones

Our latest innovations cover applications such as Custody Transfer Tank Gauging onboard LNG tankers, and a unique feature of the Saab TankRadar® for custody transfer applications at refineries -the emulation function of the REX gauge which makes it compatible to several types of mechanical and radar gauges.
